I was not effected or use social media. I can see that there is use for it. I experienced the storm, but wanted to forget about the existence of this storm so never looked at social media and its reporting of the storm but this is what i can gather about it, and its uses

Pros

you can see how family and friends are faring

police use it for people when phone lines are backed up

you can hear person accounts

cons

it is limited

it can be misinterpreted

it might  not be seen
