bookmarking

I can organised my computer via a giant mass of file system.

Emails are fine but then you and the person you send it too have to look through all of your emails to find which ones have links. It is hard and frustrating if there is a need to constantly use the links.

My favorite websites were the ones about home land security and counter terrorism. I like to know about how my government is deciding to prevent acts of terror.IF the question meant something else bookmarks are fine. The problem with them is that i cant access them at every house i go to. If i do not use chrome. The problem with chrome is i have to make a new user and delete the user ect. IF i want privacy.

Blog posts are fine but that means that everyone post things on to all the other peoples blogs. So you have to remember slot of links the links for Sam, Tom, Mark's blog\

Rss feeds sometimes get jumbled up if the website does not make any updates. They are meant for a different style of usage. They are more to just keep up to date and less for reading full articles.

All of thees things are usable and good in their own way. They are not meant for the same usage teqniques as social bookmarking. I don't know about special websites for these things but i can state general things about the systems.

batteries of the future

plant root used to make eco friendly batteries

Researchers have found an alternative to the metal ores used in the electrodes of lithium-ion batteries. The new substance is non-toxic and sustainable it uses purpurin, a red/yellow dye extracted from the root of the plant that has been used for coloring clothes for at least 3,500 years – meaning the substance can simply be grown instead of mined. Currently, lithium cobalt oxide (LiCoO2) is the material of choice for forming the cathode in Li-ion batteries. However, mining the cobalt and combining it with lithium at high temperatures to form the cathode is an expensive energy-intensive process, and ineffective. Dr. Arava Leela Mohana Reddy from Rice University says that for every kilowatt-hour of energy in a Li-ion battery, production and recycling pumps an estimated 72 kg (159 lb) of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. A American army Laboratory, found that purpurin and other biologically based color molecules offer great potential as a more environmentally friendly alternative. This is due to the carbonyl and hydroxyl groups in the molecules that are adept at passing electrons back and forth.

social book marking

social bookmarking is a way for people to more easily share content with their friends.

from my small part of this large large world make the statement that social book marking makes relevant content more accessible. It makes content easier to find you don't have to troll through emails. It makes it easier to just generally go around and find things on the internet or look through emails for links.

I can use it to for the research project. I can make sure that I get all the latest info on a subject without constantly searching, and make sure to find relevant content

when absorbed into human fat the effects of this substance will last for hundreds of years to come. children are born with birth defects and are alot more likely to be still born. This substance increases growth in small amounts and is safe. At the same time when used in massive amounts it procedes to makes the cells distach the leaves from the stems of the plants killing them. The military did not care in the slightest and then allowed it to kill Americans and Vietnamese in massive amounts as it stayed and contaminated the blood  and became stored inside of body fat. It causes still births and deformities and at least eventually american legislature stopped the use of all these listed substances.

Instagram has now stopped putting its photos onto twitter. This was originally done to draw twitter user to instagram as was most of its integration. Now it is stopping its integration so that it can draw users of twitter to its program.  Instagram seems to think that it has grown enough to now take a action that was first thought to be twitter revoking action, but to not allow the use of its intergration.

RSS FEEDS THE FUTURE

  • Why did you select the sites you subscribed to?
  • Was it easy to find feeds and to subscribe to them?
  • Which sites were your favorites?
  • What else can you use RSS feeds for?
  • How likely are you to continue to use RSS feeds in the future?

  • I selected the websites based on interest and for hte news websites just based the choices on the variety of of opinions or because of their reliability.

It was easy sometimes but harder when a website made it obscure and not the rss symbol. Also sometime sit was harder because of sonic wall blocking the wanted websites.

My favorite sites were the government, and recreational or hobby websites come second.

I can use rss feeds to easily find data at one point so that i can use it for something like a research paper.

I might just use rss feeds to show a excerpt of a website so that i can decide whether or not i am going to view post by different game related news websites  That way i will know about scandals or general news in the future (root|koreyah/dave"wtf you have not heard destiny is not on root anymore and not even that good") That way dave will no longer be able to flame me for not knowing what is up. Also this will allow me to keep up with a variety of other gaming and regular news. Another example would be using the NRC rss feed to make sure that there is no nuclear explosion nearby.

(ok i admit destiny might not be good but he got pseudo intelligence and a personality is fun and is a showman.)

    tech article

People have been slowing been moving away from the technological applications that apple has been creating becuase of their mediocraty and awkwardness. Will people come back though now that apple is cleaning their stuff up or have they moved away and now become entrenched in nice alternatives like grooveshark. According the statistical data i gathered i can confirm that the move away should be perminant as apple made their processes too closed and not open so that limited the options for developers (applications forcing others to pay royalties making free sale inpossible) (buidling becuase no open source)
They were first in but last out. they tried to stick with the same formula and did not innovate enough. They tried to use the same formula every time in form 661 which means that they rehash what works which is safe but they never innovated with things like open source and making things free. Now a days the market is moving towards everything being free. For example in gaming there has been alot of free games that come out with some sort of free pay for convience or visuals astetics, which is nice becuase you can play a game or commit to buying a game later after you know if you like it. I think that apple users will not come back becuase they fell behind and peopel moved away from apple to the new companies that are more creative and move quickly with the times. Like google and their adroid prodcts. Googles process is very innovative and they are not afraid to try crazy things and even completely rework things and take a risk and that is why they came ahead of apple in the tech race.

Lytro is on a roll. The company has recently been launching new and innovative products. The camera shown captures entire light fields. It allows for the change of focuses easily. Know their cameras can also since 3 dimensions by moving slightly and you can view it by moving around the photos which is nicest on the iPad. This effect is ridiculously cool when coupled with living filters.

    TECH ARTICLE

Hybrid hard disk drives, such as Seagate’s Momentus XT, offer the performance advantages of a solid state drive (SSD) combined with the capacity and cost advantages of platter-based hard disks. Now the Data Storage Institute (DSI) from Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) has unveiled its own hybrid hard drive called the “A-Drive” that comes in a 2.5-inch form factor and measures a svelte 5 mm thick.

Yahoo is currently experiencing large amounts of competition. So it decided to test out new logo ideas. They are currently surveying different logos ect. To see what people like. They are also trying things like intoNow. They are trying to keep up with Google by releasing new products too.

    wiki

A wiki can be used in any class. For social studies you could have students research locations so they could understand places they are learning about. For Spanish they could create study guides for anything from verbs to word meanings. For English they could share notes and tricks for memorizing how to use punctuation. For science you could create portfolios of all the projects you have done. For math you could have peer editing on math homework. The benefits of wikis are that they allow you to quickly find and spread information for anyone to view, which is unlike every other distribution method. We could go to a website and create a wiki such as wikispace and use it in class for anything from peer editing too just creating guides.  I currently am a member of the Wikipedia editing community and help with fact checking and getting credible sources.

Google had just announced that it added 25 million new building footprints to google maps. The update had to do with 3d maps and buildings in google earth and pdates street view pictures. They did this using aerial images and computer image techniques. It allows google maps to determine heights and shapes of the buildings.

Red bull is scaling up their advertisement campaign by going to space. They have started by building the biggest and doing what has not been done before so that they can start conversations. With their latest try they were making the biggest ballon ever and attempting to make a supersonic space jump. The plane was aborted because of atmospheric conditions.

    PHOTOSYNTHESIS =CAR FUEL?

As gas becomes rarer automakers are looking for alternate fuel choices. The process is similar to photosynthesis. You take the sun's energy to convert water and co2 into liquid fuel. Instead of using electricity and mechanical processes to turn water and co2 into fuel, they use micro organisms to convert co2 and water into electricity. The organisms will use the electricity to turn the water and co2 into fuel. Instead of growing the organisms are forced into endlessly creating fuel for vehicular transport.

    tech article 9/28/12

Facebook has begun a purge of fake accounts and
I picked this topic because i thought it was really sad. You may notice that face book fans are shedding likes. It is because Facebook has begun to delete fake accounts and likes. So popular fan pages will seem to have a reduced number of followers but they actually only have a reduced amount of apparent followers the actual people who follow the page is the same. This is a part of Facebook's efforts to improve systems that detect illegitimate likes.

    I EAT ICE-CREAM

I eat  ice-cream. I had a early birthday cake over the summer. I stayed in Vancouver B.C. I stayed hunkered inside of a large house. I stayed in one corner of it. Only leaving to go to the library. Which I did periodically. The vancouver public library system is pretty good compared to N.J.'s which I always take for granted. I read around 146 books over the summer. I also ate ice cream. I also played Dota 2, Starcraft 2, and played on a highlander team for the game Team Fortress 2.

9/13 tech? Joke, fraud, or reality? or future

Spestle has created a new way to make money. It innovates from convention opening up a whole new aspect of making money by using technology. You can now make a mix of spices and sell them but without any risk. You make money only when it sells. The company makes money by slightly overpricing it. There is no risk on their side because of the fact that they make the spices to order and if your mix does not sell they don't make it so there is no risk for either side but big reward for them. They take all the risk away from being a small time seller and pay you money for inventing the mix or spices that they sell for you
